Sunday XI Fixtures

PTGCC Sunday XI

The 2010 Sunday team have so far only managed 3 matches, but this has shown a little as to the problems for Sunday teams with ourselves not fielding a team for one match & our opposition declining 2 matches.

But on the happy side I can only prise the attitude of the youngsters who have shown great willingness to improve their game.

The team have won 1 and lost 2 with some good individual performances, Dan Lewis (89), Simon Bond (58) & Jamie Mullans (18) helped ensure a 5 wicket win at Knotty Green.

Chris Smith (50) against Widmere End & the return of John Farthing, and 3 wickets by Joe Fisher made it a close affair but Widmere coming out on top by 2 wickets.

On Sunday we played Ivenhoe & Pitstone in a CCC match with the games first over almost deciding the game as Penn were put in to bat, the bowler Nice did not live up to his name as with the first ball knocked Smuths off stump back and 2 balls later repeated the delivery to Henry (Blowers), leaving the mix of very young & very old to take the score to 91, mainly to John Carpenter who looked better & better until he fell to catch on the boundary from the over pitched yorker. John then opened with the Old Git and both took wickets but the A Nice then having been dropped twice took Pitsone home for a 5 wickets win.

Final word goes to the lads, Elliott Scott (good catch on Sunday, especially off Skipper), Connor, Jay Vincent who looks better every time he bowls, Joe Fisher, Richie (Ginger) Alexander, John Carpenter and last for Callaum Weatherall who can not do enough to help and is improving every week.

Wll done lads keep it up.
